Going somewhere?

I’m R. Glenn Topfer, based in Galveston County, Texas — right along the coast. I’m the owner of Coastal Mountain Travel, operating under the host agency Cruise Brothers.

In April 2025, I semi-retired after 38 years as an executive chef. We can talk food all day, but these days, I talk travel. Over the past several years, my wife Bethany and I have explored the country — from cruises sailing out of Galveston and Florida to adventures through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Together, we’ve traveled extensively across the U.S., and our experiences have deepened our love of seeing new places and meeting new people.

My career change has also allowed me to focus more on caring for Bethany, who lives with ALS. That journey has opened our eyes to the world of disability travel, teaching us the challenges — and possibilities — of accessible experiences.  Not all accessible trips are what they claim, speaking from our experiences.
